Hölz, Franz Karl
Franz Karl Hölz, son of Franz Bernhard Hölz (1773-1837), was born 18 October 1806 in Wermelskirchen b. Remscheid (Germany). He and his family moved to Russia in 1814.
He studied theology at the University of Dorpat (Estonia) from 1828-1830, and was ordained in 1831.
He served the parish in the Volga German colony of Warenburg from 1834 until his death there on 6 October 1883. He is the father of the Rev. Karl Theodor Hölz, the Rev. Karl Julius Hölz, and the Rev. Karl Leopold Hölz.
