Bauergraben was a Lutheran khutor (farmstead) located 75 kilometers east of Engels. The founding families came from Boisroux.
Following the deportation of the Volga Germans in 1941, the settlement was renamed Novij Put. Today, nothing remains of the former Volga German settlement of Bauergraben.
There were no known religious structures in Bauergraben.
