Johannes Arnst, a single farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Kolb on 13 May 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 27 along with a note that he is working as a day-laborer (Lohnarbeiter).
The 1767 census records that Johannes Arnst came from the German village of Heckeberg [?] in the Hanau region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Arnst family among the Volga German colonies.
