Jakob Bändel, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Schuck on 18 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 6.
The 1767 census records that Jakob Bändel came from the German region of Bieswang.
