Discussion & Documentation:

There are two Bauer families recorded from the Volga German colony of Kutter. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research:

(1) Christina Bauer née Popp, widow Heinrich Bauer, and her children are recorded on the 1798 census of Kutter in Household No. Kt09. [Anna Christina Bopp [sic], daughter of Caspar Bopp & Anna Elisabeth Loth, was born 20 October 1748 in Vonhausen. See Popp family in Messer.]

A note on the 1798 census records that Heinrich Bauer's son Heinrich (junior) and his family are working and living in Sarepta.

(2) In 1792, Johann Michael Bauer moved from Kutter to Messer. Michael Bauer from Kutter and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Messer in Household No. Ms39.
