Johann Dangelin, a farmer, and his wife Christina settled in the Volga German colony of Holstein on 26 May 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 10.
The 1767 census records that Johann Dangelin came from the German region of Kobern [?].
There do not appear to be any surviving male descendants of this family, and consequently the surname does not continue among the Volga German colonies.
