Stephan Topler, a farmer, his wife Anna Maria, and children (Hans Georg, age 13; Katharina, age 10; Franz, age 2-months) settled in the Volga German colony of Rohleder on 14 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 31.

In 1788, Stephan Topler and his family moved from Rohleder to Herzog.

Stephan Topler, his wife, daughter, and daughter's family are recorded on the 1798 census of Herzog in Household No. Hr13.

Widower Georg Doppler and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Rohleder in Household No. Rl18.

Georg Doppler and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Rohleder in Household No. 40.

The 1767 census records that Stephan Topler came from the German region of München (Munich).
