Rudolph [Ludwig] Eberlein, a single tailor (Schneider), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Nord Stern under the command of Skipper Detlev Belling.
Ludwig Eberlein is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Jost on 19 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 85.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Rudolph Eberlein came from the German region of Heilbronn while the 1767 census records that Ludwig Eberlein came from the German region of Hellburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Eberlein family among the Volga German colonies.
