Heinrich Fest, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Seelender.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dehler on 1 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Households No. 14 & 15.

The 1767 census records that the Fest family came from the German village of Reifenberg in Bassenheim.
