Discussion & Documentation:

Georg Fischer, a carpenter (Zimmermann), and his wife Dorothea arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Orlovskaya on 3 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 65 along with orphan Leberecht Lampe (age 6). The census does not record a relationship between the Fischer and Lampe families.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Georg Fischer came from the German region of Dessau.
