Johann Gauert, a carpenter, his wife Margaretha and their children (Katharina, age 8; August, age ½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Son August is recorded on the 1798 census of Boisroux in Household No. Bx16.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Gauert came from the German region of Zerbst.
