Jakob Hager, his wife Barbara, and his sister Anna immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in the city of Schleswig on 9 May 1761.

In 1764 they joined the migration to Russia and are recorded on the 1775 census of Schilling in Household No. 29.

The Eichhorns record that Jakob Hager came from the German region of Baden-Durlach.
