Johann Honighaus, a mechanic, and his family arrived from L├╝beck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Susannental.

In 1798, Heinrich Honighaus and his wife moved from Susannental to Bettinger.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Honighaus came from the German region of Darmstadt.
