Johann Horch, a farmer, his wife Anna Margaretha, and son Johannes (age 14) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kutter in Household No. 49. They had settled there on 29 July 1767.

The 1767 census records that Johann Horch came from the German region of Hanau.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
