Christian Horst, a farmer, and his wife Klara arrived from L├╝beck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the galliot Die Fortuna under the command of Skipper Peter Stahl.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Beideck. Christian Horst and his new wife Anna Friedrika are recorded there on the 1775 census in Household No. 50.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christian Horst came from the German region of Darmstadt.
