Adam Köhler, a farmer, his wife Anna Christina, and son Jakob (age 12) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Jakob Bauer.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Pfeifer on 15 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 38.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Adam Köhler came from the German region of Fulda.
