Johann Klopmann, a farmer, and his wife Maria Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 13 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 18.
The 1767 census records that Johann Klopmann came from the German village of Lütersburg in the Holstein region.
