Discussion & Documentation:

Wilhelm Kolb, son of Hans Georg & Anna Barbara Kolb, was baptized 13 December 1716 in Feudenheim. He married there on 26 November 1743 to Anna Christina Rudolph, daughter of Johannes & Anna Sara Rudolph. She had been baptized in Feudenheim on 17 February 1717.

The baptism of a daughter to Wilhelm Kolb & Anna Christina Rudolph is recorded in the parish register of Feudenheim: Anna Elisabeth, baptized 23 May 1747.

Wilhelm Kolb, a farmer, his wife Christina, and daughters (Anna Margaretha, age 18; Elisabeth, age 15) immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) arriving in Flensburg on 29 May 1762.

They requested dismissal from the Danish colonies on 24 April 1765 and joined the migration to Russia.

Wilhelm Kolb, a farmer, and his wife Christina are recorded on the 1767 census of Balzer in Household No. 34. They had settled in Balzer on 28 March 1766.

Daughter Elisabeth Kolb married Peter Steinpreis. They are recorded on the 1767 census of Balzer in Household No. 35. [See Steinpreis Family.]

The 1767 census records that Wilhelm Kolb came from the German region of the Kurpfalz. The Eichhorns record that Wilhelm Kolb came from the German village of Käferthal in the Kurpfalz region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Kolb family among the Volga German colonies.
