Johannes Kranewitz, a baker (Bäcker), and his wife arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Hans Karholm.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 63.
The 1767 census records that Johannes Kranewitz came from the German region of Wiesbach.
