Gottfried Lehmann, a farmer, and his wife Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Bettinger on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 21.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Gottfried Lehmann came from the German village of Oranienbaum. The 1767 census records that he came from the German region of Dessau.
