Adam Meier, a wool carder (Wollschläger), his wife Elisabth, and son Nikolaus (age 6-months) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 31. They had settled there on 27 August 1766.

The 1767 census records that Adam Meier came from the German region of Nassau-Usingen.
