Karl Rauschenbach, a merchant, and his wife Johanna settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstatdt on 3 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 20.
In 1792, Gottfried Rauschenbach moved from Nieder-Monjou to Katharinenstadt.
The 1767 census records that Karl Rauschenbach came from the German town of Leipzig.
