Discussion & Documentation:

Widow Margaretha Reil, a farmer's wife, and her son Wilhelm (age 19) settled in the Volga German colony of Dönhof on 18 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 76 along with the orphaned daughter of Heinrich Kraus (Margaretha, age 18) and the orphaned son of Philipp Nafts (Konrad, age 20). The 1767 census does not record a relationship among the Reil, Kraus, and Nafts families.

The 1767 census records that Margaretha Reil came from the German village of Gelnhausen.
