Weigand Schmidt, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.
In 1785, widower Weigand Schmidt and his sons moved from Paulskaya to Boisroux.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Weigand came from the German region of Darmstadt.
