Joseph Steinbock, a saddle maker (Sattler), and his wife Anna Maria Walter arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard a pink under the command of Lieutenant Moisey Davydov.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Köhler on 21 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 79.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Joseph Steinbock came from the German region of Fulda.
