Ludwig Tehele, a farmer, and his family immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein), arriving in Flensburg on 12 June 1762.
They deserted the Danish colonies in July 1764 and joined the migration to Russia.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 28 August 1765 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 14.
Both the Eichhorns and the 1767 census record that Ludwig Tehele came from the German region of Höhenlohe.
