Marcel Würtz and his wife Rosina arrived from Danzig at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 aboard the galliot Die Hoffnung under the command of Skipper Johann Heschke.

Marcel is recorded on the 1775 census of the Volga German colony of Schilling in Household No. 80 along with his new wife Susanna, stepson Johannes Winter, and mother-in-law Margaretha (surname not recorded).

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Marcel Würtz came from the German region of Pfalz.
