Johann Gottlieb Zose, a physician (Arzt), and his wife Maria are recorded on the 1767 census of Boisroux in Household No. 46 along with orphan Johann Brando (age 13). The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Zose and Brando families. They had settled in Boisroux on 3 August 1767.
The 1767 census records that Johann Gottlieb Zose came from the German village of Silkerode.
