Johann Jost Beutel, a single farmer, is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Kaneau in Household No. 59.

It is not known in which colony he settled.

The 1767 census records that Johann Jost Beutel came from the German village of Gleiszellen [?].

There are no known surviving male lines of this Beutel family among the Volga German colonies.
