Jakob Bolwin (age 20) and his brother Philipp (age 14), stepsons of Heinrich Reith, are recorded in Household No. 21 on a list of Beauregard recruits appended to the 1767 census of the Volga German colonies.
The Reith family settled in the Volga German colony of Zürich, and the Bolwin brothers are assumed to have settled there with them.
The 1767 census does not record from where the Bolwin brothers came.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
