Jakob Fischer, chimney sweep (Schornsteinfeger), and his wife Margaretha are recorded on the 1767 census of Lauwe in Household No. 14 along with stepson Karl Raschler (age 12). They had settled in Lauwe on 19 August 1767.
The 1767 census records that Jakob Fischer came from the German village of Aurach.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Fischer family among the Volga German colonies.
