Valentin Freihaut, a farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Schuck on 18 June 1766. He and his wife Katharina are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3.
The 1767 census records that Valentin Freihaut came from the German village of Starkenburg in the Mainz region.
