Johann Georg Götz, a single turner (Dreher), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 17 July 1767 where he is recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 48.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johann Georg Götz came from the German region of Sachsen (Saxony).
