The Büdingen marriage register records marriage of Johannes Geist from Reppeshain [sic] & Anna Catharina Schmidt from Kirtorff [sic] on 15 May 1766.
Johann Heinrich Geist, a farmer, and his wife [Anna] Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 August 1766 aboard the ship Apollo under the command of Skipper Detlov Merberg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Müller on 16 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 36.
The 1798 census records that in 1796, Johann Wilhelm Geist moved from the colony of Müller to Kraft. He is recorded on the 1798 census of Kraft in Household No. Kf19.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Heinrich Geist came from the German region of Isenburg. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Reinheim.
