Johannes Grosch, son of Johannes & Maria Sybilla Grosch, was baptized on 29 August 1733 in Heßloch, northwest of Worms. Johannes married there on 22 July 1760 to widow Maria Elisabeth (surname not recorded).
They immigrated to Russia along with her two daughters from a previous marriage (Maria Elisabeth & Magdalena), settling in the colony of Schuck on 18 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 21.
