Friedrich Krauter, a farmer, his wife Anna Elisabeth, and daughter Maria Barbara (age 1½) settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 1 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 81.

Philipp Krauter from Balzer is recorded on the 1798 census of Lauwe in Household No. Lw16.

The 1767 census records that Friedrich Krauter came from the German region of Isenburg.
