Ludwig Stettinger, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Bauer on 8 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 54.
The 1767 census records that Ludwig Stettinger came from the German village of Stahlberg in the region of Leiningen.
