Christoph Stoppel, a blacksmith (Schmied), and his wife Anna arrived at the port of Oranienbaum from Lübeck on 15 September 1766 aboard the a ship with Skipper Franz Nicolaus Schroeder at the helm.  They arrived in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 Census in Household No. 12.

The 1767 census records that Christoph Stoppel came from the German village of Mitnachbars zu Elm.
