Karl Wilhelm Vogler, a soldier (Soldat), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Holstein on 26 May 1765. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 2.

In 1797, widow Elisabeth Vogler and her sons moved from Holstein to Franzosen.

The 1767 census records that Karl Wilhelm Vogler came from the German village of Rendsburg in the Holstein region.
