Johann Jakob Wagner, a farmer, and his wife Sibilla settled in the Volga German colony of Bauer on 1 March 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 51 along with their 4-month-old son Christoph.
The 1767 census records that Johann Jakob Wagner came from the German village of Dierbach in the Zweibrücken region.
