Johann[es] Zubicks, a farmer, and his unnamed wife settled in the Volga German colony of Laub on 12 July 1767. She died 27 September 1767, and he is recorded as a widower on the 1767 census of Laub in Household No. 62.

Johannes Zubicks and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Laub in Household No. Lb35.

The 1767 census records that Johann[es] Zubicks came from the German village of Waldgirmes in the Darmstadt region.
